The new computer from HP, the
HP
Pavilion x2, is a solid device. This device is not going to blow your
mind, but it will also satisfy many people. However, no matter what your
opinion on it is, this device appears to be a cheap version of Apple’s
MacBook Air.
DETAILS ON THE HP PAVILION X2
The HP Pavilion x2 is a hybrid device. This means that it can be used
as both a tablet and a laptop. This device comes with a 1.44 GHz
quad-core chip processor, which is the latest Intel Atom processor. The
hard drive space and memory resemble that of a Chromebook. The HP
Pavilion x2 will come with only 2 GB of RAM, as well as 32 GB of hard
drive space. However, it can be upgraded to 64 GB of hard drive space.
Also, the screen resolution for Pavilion x2 is 1280 x 800. However, one
of the main problems of this device is that it can be painfully slow.
This is really apparent when using it is a laptop. It runs multiple apps
simultaneously in the background that kill the speed.
WHAT THE MACBOOK AIR IS
The MacBook Air is a much bigger beast than the HP Pavilion x2. For
starters, it runs a possible 2.2 GHz dual-core Intel Core i7 processor.
The MacBook Air comes with 4 GB of RAM, but one could get 8 GB if they
wanted to. The amount of hard drive storage available for the MacBook
Air ranges from 128 GB to 512 GB. There are two different sizes of the
MacBook Air that can be purchased. One is the 11-inch version, which
comes with a 1366 x 768 resolution size. The other size available is the
13-inch version. This version supports a little higher screen
resolution of 1440 x 900.
HP PAVILION X2 IS PRETTY MUCH A WASHED DOWN VERSION OF THE MACBOOK AIR
As can be seen by the specs, the MacBook is an improved version of
the Pavilion x2. Every aspect that the Pavilion x2 has, the MacBook has
it beat on. Even the battery life is a little better for the MacBook.
This is considering that the Pavilion x2 actually has around seven hours
of battery life. The MacBook tops it with 9-12 hours of battery life,
depending on how you use the device.
THE HP PAVILION X2 IS NOT A BAD DEVICE
With all this being said, let’s not ignore the fact that the Pavilion
x2 is a good device. It allows users to use it as a tablet or computer.
It is also powerful for web browsing, as well as having a great screen.
However, the biggest plus is the fact that this device is only $300.
Meanwhile, the MacBook Air ranges from $899 to $1199.
